A question for older and younger generation:?

I'm watch a documentary on one of my favorite bands, Thievery
Corporation. A quick rundown, the band is two DJ's who produce beats
and then they bring in other people to do special instruments or sing.
A lot of the songs are not in English, some are sang by Jamaicans. My
dad, who's over 60, sits down and after listening to one of their
songs, sang with a Jamaican accent, says the song is sick. Now he
doesn't mean sick like a really cool song but sick as in bad. I asked
him what he meant and he said because you couldn't understand what
they were singing.
Now my questions to you:
A)Why does it seem that the older generation cannot appreciate ethnic
sounding music? I'm not talking screamo either.

B)I'd like if you posted your age with your answer so I get a baseline
of answering.

C)If you've never listened to Thievery Corporation, I suggest you give
them a listen too. It's such good music, so chill.
